Nelly Rapti is Greek talented artist that very soon managed to distinguish among others with her unique style. She was born in Athens where still today lives and works. She studied at the Superior School of Arts and worked together with important Greek artists as Vlahopoulos, Aperghi, & Papaioannou, to name a few.In the meantime, she was involved – for a short period of time – with Byzantine Art.
Her paintings are widely published in important art editions and some of them could be found in private and public collectioons across Greece, Germany, England, China and Hong Kong. All of them are characterized from the firm shape and the color’s harmony. Nelly Rapti also participated in 12 group and 7 personal exhibitioins all around Greece. The first personal exhibition under the title “Ikastikes Parallages No1” took place at gallery Forum 2000 on February 1991. From then on ongoing exhibitions take place in Athens.
Nelly’s first lithographies were created with great success on December of 1998. The fifth personal exhinition under the title “Μέσα Από Το Χρόνο Στο Χώρο” translated in “Throughout Time Into Space” was held on November 2002, in which she presented for the first time, a new technique in working acrylic and powder together for the subjects of dreaming landscapes.
The National Herald, one of the leading Greek-American newspapers based in New York, recently featured Nelly Rapti and her artistic journey. Established in 1915, the newspaper highlights achievements of the Greek diaspora and promotes Hellenic culture worldwide.
